Curtis is now at the MTC

It's hard to believe it but Curtis is now at the MTC. We left here at about 5:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning to get him to the airport. He flew out at 6:30 and we are assuming that he made it. He was excited and ready to go.We had our Christmas dinner on Tuesday night and had him open a few presents. The rest we sent with him. Well we hope that this finds everyone doing well. Have a very Merry Christmas and know that we are thinking of you.
Love ya,
Sarah
Lynette tried to help me post this last week but the camera wouldn't cooperate and so we are posting it now hopefully with pictures.
Here is Curtis' MTC address:
Elder Curtis Brett Despain
MTC Mailbox # 136
PHI-ANG 0222
2005 N 900E
Provo, UT 84604-1793
We have been sending him letters through dearelder.com because it's free. Also for anyone that hasn't recieved the forwards of his two letters, send Lindsey your email address and she will forward his letters to you. She has graciously agreed to forward Curtis' letters each week like she did for Lynette. Lindsey's email is ldisacloggingchick@hotmail.com
I heard that Dave & Tracy and crew are coming to Idaho to bring Adam to school. When are you coming and how long will you be here? Drop us a note and let us know. Christmas was great. Very busy. I tried to leave a comment on Tracy's blog. I'll have to look and see if it worked. Nate

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Fam!

Hope you all had a great Christmas! It was fun for us having everyone home.

Sarah.........would you be able to post Curtis' addresses for his mission on here. It would be awesome for those who would like to write him to find his address on here.

Hope all is well and Happy New Year!

Curtis is going to the Philippines!!!

Curtis received a large white envelope in the mail today addressed to Elder Curtis Brett Despain. In it was his mission call to the Philippines, Angeles Mission. He reports to the MTC on December 21st. He is excited but I think that he is also in shock. He says that going to the Phillipines never even crossed his mind. He is still trying to wrap his head around the idea. (his words) Some of his friends had been betting that he would get called to Australlia. Anyway I guess that now we have 3 1/2 months to get him ready to go to the Philipines. Also he will be speaking Tagalog on his mission. We tried to call people tonight but not everyone was home. We just wanted everyone to know the GOOD news!

Seth

We've started out countdown to the days of Seth's return AUGUST 11TH, 5:47 PM. Funny thing......he's not so ready to come home. I asked him in my letter this week what he's missed as far as food goes so we could accommodate him and have something he's missed......he said I've missed nothing! I love what I eat here. If you would have asked any of his siblings 2 years ago what the scariest thing about having him going to Guatemala would be.......would be the food as he was so picky we all thought he'd be offensive and not eat. I'm so proud of him and the way he's changed. Still Seth......but definitely better! A very true testimony of what a mission can and does do for you! Even if he's not excited to come home we are VERY excited to get him home.

Here's a few of the pictures he's sent home.......in front of the Guatemala Temple, one is his new mission president. He said he wishes he had more time with him as he's a very awesome man.

Adam's New Job

Adam was looking for another job since he wasn't getting as many hours at the yogurt shop as he would like. So, he talked to a friend and he said talk to my dad. While in Idaho he actually called the man and then after we got back went in and talked to him and he hired him for part time. He is now employed by Grayhawk Country Club! He has to be at work at 5:00 AM and on Monday and Tuesday has long days but then on Thursday it is a short day (off at 1:30ish). The biggest problem has been he's allergic to fresh cut grass so has come home and had to do breathing treatments! Hopefully this isn't how it will be the whole time he works there or I'm not sure he's going to last!

The one exciting thing that happened this week..........he was mowing and going up a hill and then the mower started to slide back down the hill. Only problem is that it was sliding into the lake (or drink as Adam puts it) so he hopped off and tried to hold it but eventually the weight was just too much and it slid into the water. He said he was so scared he was going to get in trouble. One of the men came (they all speak Spanish

) and he was trying to ask him somehting and Adam didn't understand what he was saying he says they speak tooooo fast! So finally Adam told him in Spanish get help! The manager came (which is his friends dad) and said well I hope you got a picture of this and post it to facebook! So he did! Ernie wasn't mad said he thought he'd probably do it to a bunker but "hey you went big" They pulled it out and it was still working fine which Adam was glad since it is a $50,000 mower! One thing about Adam is he's always good for comic relief and I'm sure I just butchered this and he could tell it way better!

Notes from 2011 Family Reunion Family Mtg.

This blogging thing is new to me so hopefully this works.

First of all thanks to everyone for coming and and making the reunion a great success.

I am sending out notes from the family mtg. since everyone was not able to be there.

FAMILY MTG NOTES:
It was decided that we will have a Price Family Reunion every other year with the next reunion being in 2013. Between July 4th and the Middle of July seems to be the best time.

David & Tracy volunteered to be in charge of the next reunion.
It was agreed that we would like to have it at a central location. (similar to the house in Heber City that was big enough for all of us to be under one roof)

The idea was also put out to have a Mom, Dad, Siblings and Spouse vacation/cruise or something like that. So put away some money as you can and if someone hears of a good deal they can let the rest of us know and we'll see what happens.

As a way to increase family communication it was suggested that we start a family blog. (Thanks David and Tracy for getting this set up.) They goal is to try to post some news and when possible pictures from each family once a month. More is OK too. Let's each work to keep this going.

Seth comes home August 11th and reports on August 14th.

Donna would still like to put together a book for Mom and Dad for their 50th Anniversary. She is trying to collect pictures and stories. She would like the have them by the end of September so that she can complete it by Christmas. Contact her if you have any questions.

These are the things I had in my notes. If there is something I forgot please let us all know.

Have a GREAT day!!

P.S. I will send out the Mint Brownie recipe that some of you asked for tomorrow if I can. I need to run off to YW right now. It is a combined activity with the YM and we are playing Mud Volleyball. Wish me luck.

Mountain Home News

Just thought I would drop a quick note. I really like the photo at the top of the family blog. It looks great and turned out pretty neat. We have settled back into the routine I guess. Still trying to catch up at work. I just haven't wanted to stay there late each night to get caught back up. Curran left for a special scout camp at 3:00 AM this morning. They are going to BYU-idaho, Yellowstone, West Yellowstone (to a play) as well as work on merit badges etc. Courtney had two wisdom teeth pulled today. She was a real trooper and wasn't even too much of a chipmunk tonight. Jenny is starting to can cherries, beans etc. Lizzie had a great day with friends today and Travis is getting geared up for his 6th birthday on Thursday. That is about all we are doing. Hope all is well with everyone. We'll try to continue checking the blog regularly. Love to all.
